Acolyte Press - The Acolyte Reader Series 01-12 (1986-1996)

When the Coltsfoot Press went bankrupt in 1986, its editor, Frank Torey, who was also an editor for its parent company, Spartacus, founded the Acolyte Press in Amsterdam.

The tide had already begun to turn against boylovers and anything that might link that persuasion to "gay" movements or activities, but even so, Torey was able to keep AP going for 10 years until his death in 1996. By then the tide had overflowed the promenade, and it's hard to see how AP could have survived much longer even if Frank Torey had lived. His legacy is probably better represented on TNT than anywhere else on the net, although we do have a few gaps in our collection.

Much of what we have is either in PDF format or, if there's an ebook, it's a bit out of date. So one of my current projects is to update our collection and present the best quality ebooks I'm capable of. That's not a fast process, obviously, but over the months you'll see the books appearing one by one.

For most, I have a PDF for reference which usually provides a cover image. Where there isn't a PDF there's some sort of image available, even if it isn't the original cover. You should bear in mind also that these were published as pulp paperbacks, and the standards of presentation and editing were not high. I'll have done my best to correct errors and leave you with something of good quality, but please understand the circumstances.

This thread is for the 12 volumes in the Acolyte Reader series, and I'll add each one as I finish it.
