Ein Film über das moderne Kuba, gedreht von einem italienischen Regisseur. Eine ältere, einsame Frau, deren Mann während seines internationalen Einsatzes in Angola starb, wird zur Verkörperung des alten Kuba, eines Künstlerpaares am Rande der Trennung – seiner eher düsteren Gegenwart – und zwei 9-jährigen Jungen, die davon träumen, dorthin zu gehen Amerika und dort berühmte Baseballspieler zu werden – eine unmögliche Zukunft, die nur Kindern Hoffnung geben kann.
Milagros survives selling peanut cones on the street and spends her days listening to radio and reading old letters. Frank and Alain nine-year-old best friends go to school and dream of emigrating to the U.S. to become Baseball players.
The film is an expansion of a 2019 Santambrogio's short film with the same title. The film is set and shot in San Antonio de los Baños (near Havana). None of the cast members have previously appeared in a feature film.
