Der Protagonist des Films ist der vierzehnjährige Romek, der durch den Tod seiner Mutter zum Waisen wurde. Nach ihrem Tod versucht der Junge, ein normales Leben zu führen. Unerwartet erfährt er, dass er angeblich einen Vater hat – sein Name ist Jan Galik, ein berühmter Künstler aus Krakau. Der Junge macht sich auf die Suche nach ihm.
The film's protagonist is a fourteen-year-old boy named Romek, who is orphaned by the death of his mother. After her death, the boy tries to lead a normal life. He unexpectedly learns that he supposedly has a father – his name is Jan Galik, a famous artist living in Krakow. The boy sets out to find him.
