Willie McLean ist ein 10-jähriger Junge aus einer Bergbaufamilie, der Pferde und die Schule liebt. Willie McLean is a 10-year-old boy from a mining family who loves horses and school. But when Willie's father is injured and his older brother is killed in an accident, the boy is forced to go to work in the mine himself to help support his family. There, he befriends the pony used in the mine.
