Emma ist 12 Jahre alt und lebt mit ihrem Vater Anders im Norden Schwedens. Emma vermisst ihre verstorbene Mutter und freut sich nicht auf den Besuch von Sara, einer Frau aus Stockholm, die Anders durch eine Anzeige kennengelernt hat, und ihrem 12-jährigen Sohn Daniel. Daniel spielt lieber Computer als in der Wildnis zu wandern. Um den anderen zu entkommen, beschließt Emma, mit dem Fischer Isak auf eine dreitägige Reise zu gehen, doch unerwartet kommt Daniel mit. Die Reise wird zu einem Abenteuer, bei dem Emma und Daniel ihre Kräfte bündeln müssen, um zu überleben.
Emma is 12 years old and lives with her father Anders in the north of Sweden. Emma misses her dead mother and is not looking forward to the visit of Sara, a woman from Stockholm, who met Anders through an ad, and her 12-year old son Daniel. Daniel prefers computer games to hiking in the wilderness. Emma decides to join the fisherman Isak on a 3-day trip to escape the others, but Daniel comes along unexpectedly. The trip becomes an adventure where Emma and Daniel have to join forces to survive.
