11-year-old Michi lives in a children's home, every day fighting to win the respect of the other kids, till the day he finds his real dad, Tom - who happens to be a dwarf, even shorter than Michi is, the opposite of his idea of manliness and strength. When the kids find out, Michi's life becomes hell and he flees. With nowhere to go, he moves in with Tom, who is new to this fatherhood thing, while Michi tried to hide his embarrassment and shame from his fellow school kids. This forces Tom, who had coped well till now, to confront his handicap head on. As time passes, they discover they have more in common than other sons and fathers, until their relationship is again suddenly put to the hard test...
Seit dem Tod seiner alleinerziehenden Mutter lebt der erst zehnjährige Michi (Luis Vorbach) in einem Kinderheim und wünscht sich nichts sehnlicher, als wieder bei einer richtigen Familie zu sein. Doch als er eines Tages in den Hinterlassenschaften seiner Mutter herumkramt, stößt er auf einen ihm bis dahin unbekannten Brief. Schnell wird ihm beim Lesen klar, dass es sich bei dem Absender um seinen leiblichen Vater handeln muss. Voller Vorfreude und Aufregung macht er sich auf, ihn zu besuchen und stellt ihn sich dabei als großen, starken Mann vor, der ihn zu sich nimmt und fortan beschützt. Doch als er ihn endlich ausfindig machen kann, stellt er schockiert fest, dass sein Vater Tom (Jordan Prentice) kleinwüchsig ist. Als dann auch noch die anderen Heimkinder davon erfahren, ist das Chaos perfekt: Die Anderen machen sich über sie lustig, Michi verliert seine Freunde und macht Tom dafür verantwortlich. In seiner Wut wird er ziemlich unfair, was seinen Vater wiederum sehr verletzt. Ob sie nochmal zueinander finden werden?
