When 15-year-old shepherd Ahmet putters through the North Macedonian hills, bass-heavy songs thump from his homemade sound system. The electronic sounds promise an escape from his conservative village community. Unfortunately, the nearest disco is impossibly far away, the local download speed is abysmal, and his strict father is doing everything he can to eradicate his love of music. Only his mute brother Naim shares his enthusiasm – until the beautiful Aya arrives from Germany on vacation and moves in with the neighbors. The newcomer not only has excellent taste in music, an unbridled desire for freedom, and a penchant for TikTok dances, but also a cell phone with unlimited data. At secret raves in the fields, the two inevitably grow closer to the beat of the music – too bad her hand is already promised to someone else. To prevent the impending marriage, Ahmet and Aya make a desperate attempt to break free from tradition.

Leider ist die nächste Disco unerreichbar weit entfernt, die örtliche Download-Geschwindigkeit katastrophal und sein strenger Vater versucht alles, um ihm die Liebe zur Musik auszutreiben. Einzig sein stummer Bruder Naim teilt seine Begeisterung – bis die wunderschöne Aya auf Heimaturlaub aus dem fernen Deutschland bei den Nachbarn einzieht. Die Neue hat nicht nur einen ausgezeichneten Musikgeschmack, unbändigen Freiheitswillen und ein Faible für Tiktok-Tänze, sondern auch ein Handy mit unbegrenztem Datenvolumen im Gepäck. Bei heimlichen Raves auf dem Acker kommen sich die beiden im Takt der Musik unweigerlich näher – dumm nur, dass ihre Hand bereits einem Anderen versprochen ist. Um die anstehende Vermählung zu verhindern, startet Ahmet mit Aya einen verzweifelten Versuch, sich aus den Traditionen zu befreien.
