Benas is not yet an adult, but no longer a child. It is at this turning point that he meets young girls Vilia and Milda, who have come to his native village for an internship. Benas and Vilia are attracted to each other. One day, standing under a tree during the rain, they kiss. But soon the students leave, and an elderly man, Theophilis, comes to continue their work. He used to be an actor, but became disillusioned with his profession and women, and began to drink. He spares no irony either to himself or to Benas. Soon Theophilis's skepticism has caught Benas's attention.
