Grishka is a sambo wrestler, a sixth-grader at a famous Moscow sports school. His main rival is Alyosha Vardanin, he is in love with Irochka, who is in the same class as them and likes Grisha. Alyosha lives in a luxurious country house, his parents are well-off, their son must be the best of the best - he has no right to make mistakes and be imperfect. Grishka's father, on the contrary, instills in his son such concepts as honor, dignity, courage and justice. On the eve of a serious competition at the sports school, Grishka's father gets into an accident and ends up in intensive care. Meanwhile, Alyosha is trying with all his might to eliminate his competitor.
