Family ties draw people so closely together that sooner or later, someone is left out. And so, into the lives of twelve-year-old Anna and seven-year-old Ben, comes Isabel, the mistress of their divorced father. She does everything in her power to win the love of other people's children. But Jackie, their real mother, uses all her authority and influence to prevent this. The call of blood proves stronger than Isabel's kindness and charm. She wanted to be a true friend to Anna and Ben, but remained a stepmother. However, just when Jackie has achieved her goal, she unexpectedly discovers that she is terminally ill. And now Isabel, with whom the caring mother could not imagine her children's life, turns out to be the one person without whom their life is unimaginable...
